Indeed, the wind was drying the pavements, the roads were practically dry by the time I reached home.

I imagine you cycled to your evening event by starlight, didn't you? It was very clear in the centre...

PS I have never seen a dog with more fascinating eyes, mahlerei! What a looker!

Yes, lovely and clear, both for the down and return journeys, Caliban.

Wow! Literally as I write an amazing double rainbow has just appeared to the NE!

Oh Sky! She's gorgeous! And so well-named!

Why are her eyes different, Mahlerei? I ask because my robust 15-year old tabbycat Hooch has just been afflicted with a sudden blindness, we've been to the vet today, it may be partly recoverable, back and forth with him tomorrow for tests and scans. Hypertension might be a factor apparently...

But he's in good spirits after a tough day or two. Cats do so much by smell, hearing, touch and feel...

That's because Mahlerei has fitted her with one of those Naomi Campbell contact lenses for a part in an as yet to be announced SciFi movie. Seriously though jayne, dogs of this and other kinds often have non-matching coloured pupils.

        (I typed "gods" by mistake!)

I like the way you write "hopefully" in small font, humbly, like...

Sorry to hear about Hooch. 'Tis a worry when they're not well.

The different coloured eyes is a feature of the breed. It's rather disconcerting, as the brown one is warm and trusting, the blue one a bit cool and calculating. That said, she's very affectionate and easygoing. She gets lots of admiring comments when we're out walking. I heard one child say to his mum: 'Look, there's a wolf!'

The left eye's probably connected to the left brain then...

I bet you were surprised she didn't say, "Look, there's a chimpanzee"
