.... according to the BBC news this morning we have had a much wider variety of moths arriving here because of the balmy weather ... i feel in my bones that the moths and us are in for a big disappointment with the weather .... and another kind of perfect storm seems to be whipping itself up what with the Gov of the Bank of England's doomsday comments and Moody's downgrading the UK banks .... i have a bad feeling that the news is going into one of those gripping phases .... only us oldies remember when there was nowt much ... it will be a shock ...

12.5 C at noon just now doesn't seem quite as much of a shock as I'd been expecting, probably because of extra clothing, and I'd braced myself for it.

Remembered too late as I ventured out last night that I must dig out my reflective armbands.....Southampton's lighting system seems to be affected by the general cutbacks in services. A man was sweeping leaves from an island in the centre of the Avenue with cars whistling past him at frightening speeds. He seemed barely visible to me.Comment
