Lovely description, eigth. Pink skies here this evening, though a threat of showers tomorrow. It's still unseasonably warm here (70s) but will cool down soon enough. It's almost time to bring in the houseplants. The days are getting shorter and shorter no matter how warm it is. Once the sun sets for good in Pt. Barrow, Alaska, we will be seeing cooler temps here in New England.

Every year after the first snow fall, I remember that I should buy some of those nifty elasticated devices that slip on over the sole of your shoes to give you some decent grip.

And every year by the time I get around to it, they've sold out in my size

If the temperatures by Friday will be half what they were this weekend we are in deep, deep trouble.
In London on Saturday we reached 302 degrees Kelvin - so by Friday we will be at 151 Kelvin, or say minus 122 Celsius.
I don't think de-icer will work at that temperature...
