The brooks up today, due to rain over night....swept down a lovely tree [lovely in the sense of much firewood].....hope it does not rain even more and sweep it away from my grasp....

Got to make it to Sloane Square for a noontime freebie jass gig at Cadogan Hall. (some of the jazz is free during the Prom-pom-pom season - not the classical stuff) Just trying to make me mind up whether it's to be the tube or the bike... from that dark sky ahead.

I tend to take our brook as a guide to how much rain there has been....This the first time for a couple of months or so that the brook has been too strong for my dogs to go in....it has certainly got a bit of a roll on....

Grey and drizzly here in Wessex. Interesting how the weather affects the picture I wish to work on. Yesterday I was continuing a bright coloured one whereas today I put it aside and pitch into a darker one.

just returned from a funeral - grey humid and drizzle would fit many a sad occasion but this was a lady of 93 who had a full and very positive life, and was one of those sharp, cheerful and subtly mischievous spinsters that it is a privilege to know, so sunshine might have been preferable ..... the last of her generation, several of us sat around acknowledging that we were now those old geezers that we used to see on the periphery of family and community events and that the younger persons were now seeing us as the wallpaper ....
