Oooh you horrible man. Microwave indeed. I one owned a cairn, or she owned me, and there was a MBer who wrote about his dog a lot. The best breed of all IMHO.

Fred Astaire had a song called 'Walking the dog' in one of his musicals with Ginger Rogers. Round the deck of a ship with Ginger passing him occasionally. Good tune for Mahlerei to hum as he walks the pooch perhaps.

"Walking the Dog". Nothing like a bit of George Gershwin. It is so delightfully laid back:

In 1937, the year that he died at age 38, Gershwin moved to Hollywood. He completed the music for two movies. Unlike the other movie composers of his day, ...

Oh and thanks for the explanation of Walking the Dog, saly. I'd always assumed the expression to be some sort of euphemism

She is good exercise for us all. Took her for a long walk and several fast circuits of the green just before the rain came down. Lots of strangers stop to talk and admire her, people who wouldn't usually say a word to you on your own. Strange, that.

Yes I always talk to people with cairn terriers. They are usually pleased that I don't call the dog a scottie. Actually cairns are much prettier dogs IMO.

Mahlerei. Well known fact. Men that own and exercise attractive pooches attract females! There was a survey somewhere which coborrated this. Women see men with an attractive, female, pooch as caring, sharing, in tune with their feminine side.
