As today has gone on oop 'ere, the westerly had strengthened very, very notably, occasional shafts of sun between fast, short, fierce showers.
We've had to warn walkers about all the local streams whose speeds and depth need watching!
Some hefty, torrential showers this afternoon in Derby, the like of which I've not seen in ages. Then it suddenly all vanishes as if nothing had happened to leave a pleasant sunny evening.

Just a few clouds over Itchen, ( thanks to the jiggerypokery in the north of Southampton) otherwise all set for a fine weekend.
