Sorry to come back so soon, but oop 'ere now is more or less exactly what it was like on the fateful Dec 4/5/6 weekend.
Everything has ratcheted up notches in volume of rain, speed and gusting of winds.
The gusting is what is so fierce - minutes of not very much and then sudden whacks that literally stop you walking!!
Just- about peeping early irises pretty amazed by what they've bloomed to!

But they don't seem to have given this storm a name, unless I've missed it ? Not that I miss the non naming if that is indeed the case.

It's called Jonas - see http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-35401415 ; perhaps in what would appear to be the unlikely even that the jet stream interferes with the direction of its progress it might be renamed Jason...

Oops. We've just had 10 minute power cut here in Edinburgh. (well, our little corner of it!)

Goodness! The rain has ceased here, and the sun is out, although the clouds are zooming across the sky at an alarming rate.

We have a full force gale on our hands here, in the south near Brighton & Hove!

It was socold in NE London today that I took to wearing a bobble hat, something I rarely do from one year to the next.

i have to go to London on Thursday,so I may take a bobble hat just in case.

                    Although,thinking about it,I don't own one.
Prolly just pick one up at Waterloo if its feeling chilly.

                    if they haven't sold out.

Is there a currently fashionable make I should be buying,Beefy?

Does your team not have one?
Perhaps not enough time to get one!

What concert (hinted at on another thread) are you thinking of going to?

inexpect you can buy a Saints bobble hat.If I find the London branch of the Saints megastore,I'll maybe try there first.

There is a Sibelius 2 and othere bits and bobs concert at the RFH, Philharmonia and Rouvali( ?).

But feeling a bit uninspired, and got The OAE / Pat Kop. Lined up for the following week.

What do you reckon Pulcers? Stay for the gig?

                            Yup, good plan.
Gold and sullivan need all the cash they can get, obviously.

Well, Hardenberger is the trumpet soloist in one of the bits and bobs, so that might sway you. Depends what time you want to get home to swill your teeth with oil! Or do you carry a travel pack and pop into the loo after you've had a snack at Pret a manger (the mind boggles!)?

hmmmm..Pret is seriously overrated, IMO, and the sheer number of them in London somehow puts me off even more.

Not sure London is ready for oil pulling just yet. But,you may have have hit on something, the travelling oil pulling kit.

...and Maybe in club colours too !! Nice.

I had half decided to give the gig a swerve and put the money towards the Rattle CBSO box, but it has gone up £10 today, so more inclined to go to the concert now.
                                Decisions, decisions......

Edit: what is the Rouvali chap like? His website says he is brilliant !!!!!!
