    Intermezzo

I've been following http://intermezzo.typepad.com/ for some years, but hadn't received any emails from it for some time. Went to check, and the last post there was on 21 July.

The blog covers (covered?) opera and was always interesting, sometimes very irritating, and she had the habit of ignoring emails she evidently didn't like and would refuse likewise to post comments she didn't approve of, but if it's gone down the tubes then the blog is a definite loss. Anyone know what's happened?

Sorry, no. The Twitter stuff also finished in July. That Keenlyside/Netrebko baby thing looked scary!

Intermezzo did post (think it was in a comment column, by way of reply) that she was working late every available evening and at weekends - the reason why her review posts had dried up. Loyal comment posters wished her well and hoped for her return - but, as you say, no further news and the loss of a valuable view on goings on in the (mainly London) opera world. I wonder if Il Grande Inquisitor, or one of his contacts, has any other information?

I spotted her during the summer at one of the Mariinsky Ballet performances at the ROH and she was also at the first Berlin Phil prom. There may have been a sighting at opening night of ENO's new Otello, but I was busy with friends at the time.

I was also at the opening night of Otello! If Intermezzo has ceased permanently it would be a great loss.
