Very sorry to hear of these misfortunes. I'm sure that we all wish you luck in overcoming these problems. Don't visit the jokes section, might make your ribs hurt even more. Best wishes. D.

Oh, I am so sorry for you. There's no reason at all why next week (month, year) should bring anything bad, though.

Gamba, I'm sorry and I know that salymap will be too when I tell her about this.

As an increasingly frequent toppler-over myself I know how my pride is hurt when it happens as well as my confidence, particularly when well-meaning people tell me to "take more water with it next time".

Pick yourself up (or let someone else assist), dust yourself down and start all over again as dear Pabs suggests

          Wise words!!

V sorry to hear about the tumble, gamba. A real bugger, gravity, isn't it ?! ...Still, where would we be without it?

          Hope it all heals rapidly!
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
          Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

I am very sorry to hear about the fall. One thing that next week will bring is this:

            Through the Night: Monday
            12.30 Bach B Minor Mass
BBC Proms 2012: John Shea presents Bach's B Minor Mass, performed by the English Concert, conducted by Harry Bicket.
John Shea's selection includes Bach's B Minor Mass performed at the 2012 Proms.

Indeed, as one who has himself experienced broken ribs!

But as an Irishman once told me, as he sat propped up against a pavement wall with his flagon of scrumpy, "The great thing about being on the floor is, there's nowhere further to fall".

Will be in touch soon. Thank you all, gamba.
