I did actually see a car in Newport (Monmouthshire) many years ago which had my name as the numberplate, except for a rogue figure 1 in the middle. It really made me jump.

(Sorry, tempting though it is to tell you more, I can't really blow my cover.)

Any other musical number plate suggestions?
A quick search reveals VW9 SYM for a mere £882.80.

We have often passed these two coming into London along the Chelsea Embankment near Battersea Bridge. I think the owners have something to do with the Old Vic.

Our area code is UI. At present we have reached TUI. My number is SUI ****, which I think of as "himself", and I'm sure someone has bagged SUI 1, a real big shot indeed! Nor do I know who got RUI 2, though the joke did the rounds at the time. (Oh! the hilarity!) And finally, to end this round of priceless wit, the powers that be declined to allow the issuing of FUI, as it could lead to possible ribaldry among the populace. As if.

Usually underwhelmed by these, but I did see R. Lobster the other day.( on a Jag).

Don't know if it was a restaurant owner, fisherman, or B 52s fan though.

Would have liked to have that one.

K550MOZ never existed but K626WAM would be a good one or perhaps K250HAF or K385HAF, K551JUP, K320POS or even K492MOF.

Not so much a registration as an I D plate then...........

We have BU51VET locally. No prizes for guessing the profession.

When I was living in Germany many years ago a German friend of mine found it highly amusing to have the numberplate LAU V2 on his car. He did actually come to England in it.

I used to amuse myself whenever I saw a car reg beginning with K to see if I could get the Mozart work from the digits that followed. It's not easy!

Similarly when my brother had a car containing the number 324 it prompted me to see if I could work out the Johann Strauss composition from the opus number handily provided (Thunder and Lightening Polka in this case) when seeing other reg numbers. It makes a long journey go quicker or livens up an otherwise dull day.
