    Absent without leave (awol)

Some time ago, I started a thread called "Missing Persons"

For some reason, it suddenly became attributed to another forum member.
Now it has emerged as "Get Well Soon"

That's fine by me. We are all concerned with the health and problems of some of our members, but this loses the point of simply enquiring about the absence of certain members who have suddenly disappeared from these message boards.
So this thread is for us all to make enquiries about formerly regularly contributing members who have suddenly disappeared from these message boards.

Where, for instance is Ariosto? Posing under yet another pseudonym, or simply bored with acting as a controversial trouble maker?

There have been several contributers who had much to offer to our varied discussions and it would be interesting to know why their names no longer appear.

I'm certainly interested in being reminded of those who have contributed much in the past and then suddenly vanished.

    Wouldn’t this thread do?

Get Well Soon thread is dedicated to salymap who, I think, holds a special place for many of us on this Forum.

Yes, Get Well Soon was started by me when we first heard of saly's accident, and wasn't a general Missing Persons thread, just news.

If no one posts on a thread for a long time, it disappears from sight and a second thread on the same topic may get started. If the first one then gets resuscitated there are two similar threads going at the same time - which is when they may get merged.
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

We haven't heard from Quilisma for a while on The Choir forum. I miss his erudition.

Just a minute! Are we having an extra Thread in addition to the one to which dovers links in #2?

Triffic ta, ferney - deeply rural France with good chums, very fine weather, a few books, a few trips out (van Gogh exhibition in Arles - one of my chums is an art historian whose PhD was on Vincent so I got my own private tutorial ), one stonkingly good meal out, much good wine & food at home - bliss.

AND I lost two kilos - how was that done?
