2Cellos on 1 cello and more...

To brighten up your morning (or not), as anyone heard of these two? Sorry, I know, it's crossover.

But I have no doubt this sort of thing will help get the young to investigate classical music (and yes, it's amplified but they're playing to an arena):

They have obviously made the most of their studies at the Royal Academy and the Royal Northern College of Music:

And somebody must be making a fortune restringing their bows

Credit where credit is due, they're Luka Sulic and Stjepan Hauser and their web address is www.2cellos.com where you'll find all manner of other repertoire.

I like the fact that they appear to be enjoying themselves

O wretched state! O bosom black as death!
O limed soul, that, struggling to be free,
Art more engaged! Help, angels! Make assay!
Bow, stubborn knees; and, heart with strings of steel,
Be soft as sinews of the newborn babe!
        All may be well.

Arise Sir Flay, thou now hast a seat in the House of Lords, where ' cock ups ' go un - noticed - thou mayest now even radiate such knowledge to lesser beings who also know not the familiarity between hair & string unless we are referring to the G-string which does I am told, sometimes reside in close proximity to certain areas of hair.

                Indeed:
www.Stringfever.co.uk a quartet with a difference. Skeletal electric strings played by world class musicians. The industrys favorite melodies and guitar riff...

With apologies for yet another spin of one of R3's '100 favourite tunes'....

You are forgiven, Rolers. But a cello with 5 strings is cheating!

Rather a shame . The one doing the gurning was the cellist in the Greenwich Trio .

                      Yes, but still entertaining!

A few years ago my violin-playing daughter played it with her school string quartet (all aged 12), with the cellist using her normal cello - their music teacher did some rearranging though (with Stringfever's permission I believe). They ended up doing it at a schools prom in RAH, which remains one of her (and my) great musical experiences, so it's a version which brings back memories. We also got up a family edition (eldest daughter plays the cello), which we tried out at a local church concert - using our then 5 year old daughter to give the final cello twang .
