Brian Anthony, who persuaded Heseltine to re-vitalise the inspection and listing of historic buildings (and, later, parks and gardens) has died. The Guardian's obituary includes gravestones in the type of structures listed; I hope that Brian Anthony's gravestone will be honoured by being listed.

Thank you for posting this. Brian Anthony was a real Preservation hero. I know that people like to complain about having to deal with the onerous rules associated with owning a Listed Building, or in the US, a National Register building or building in an Historic District. Preservation codes keep our archtiectural heritage, both high-end and vernacular, from being bulldozed.
