That's very good to see Rob. No Little Englanders or Imperial-ists here please!

On favourite Freds, what about Delius? He does seem to have been so styled by his nearest and dearest.

I'm sure Chopin wasn't...unless someone knows otherwise of course. Just can't imagine Georges Sand or Jane Stirling summoning him thus to supper

PS Can I also sneak in the wonderful 'Fred' von Stade pretty-please?
I keep hitting the Escape key, but I'm still here!

When Cliff Richard went on a summer holiday, didn't he sit in the back seat kissing and cuddling Fred? Or something

I think it was 7 little girls sittin' in the back seat kissin' and a cuddlin' Fred - but afred I don't recall who was being told to keep his beady eyes on the road ahead. Looked it up...the Avons!

My Top Ten Bachs List would probably begin as follows...

                1. PDQ Bach
                2. Bach Flower Remedies
                3. JS Bach
                4. .... (no strong preferences from here on)

I can't help myself but the first four tops must be Levi Stubbs, Abdul Fakir, Obie Benson and Lawrence Peyton.

One of David Hockney's early paintings at art school was inspired by a newspaper headline - "Two boys cling to cliff all night". But I don't know if he is top or bottom (DH that is - I don't expect CR is either)

                          Great song!

I could never hear what sort of eyes they were, still can't - sounds like soupy.

I think Paul Evans and the Curls sang it first.

                          .

I thought from the heading we might be going this way - http://www.witt-international.co.uk/...e=WV4P&entry=1
