Well from where I am you just have to be grateful for small mercys. As they say here "you can't complain that your broth has too much fat"....or something like that.

I think it's called 'levelling down'.

Have to admit that I am regretting buying N*ki a Windows instead of a S* msu ng android a few months ago. Apps are almost always available for android and Apple, yet Windows is more often than not missing and not even taken into consideration.
    Shame.

The BBC have said they intend to use mp3 streams for live radio. Older internet radios should be OK. It's the on-demand content that may no longer work. MP3 streams will not be used for that.

Are there really some older models which will only do WMA? I thought that mp3 would also be provided, though that in itself might not help. There are server programs which can do on the fly transcoding. Maybe Plex would be useful for this purpose. Having said that, I've not been too successful with transcoding in the past.

could stream on demand programmes on internet radios.

But if I did, I would be bloody annoyed at the BBc changing this without consulting us.
    Xtypical !!

( how does one access on demand on an internet radio?)

Edit: Rads, I assume this is not relevant to PC access?
PC access won't be affected. However some internet radios will. It will depend on whether or not their firmware can handle the stream format that will replace the WMA streams. Many older radios will not.
As to how internet radios play on-demand content, that varies from model to model but most have a simple menu option to select programmes. Some have the ability to pause and skip forward or back. I use a Squeezebox Radio in the kitchen and I believe this will still play on-demand after the change, which might explain the high prices they are fetching on Ebay (Logitech no longer produce them.)

Here are another couple of relevant links...

If you listen to on-demand on a PC you will not be affected.
