This is well worth tryining, Radio Mercury from Quimber in France - an excellent selection of whole pieces of classical music during the day, with minimal introduction and no yweets, texts trailers or news bulletins, swapping to jazz for the evening and night.

I found it about three weeks ago and have listened, more-or-less, to it for all the time I haven't been listening to TTN

This might be of interest to some:

WDR 3 now has a page of most of its' concerts aired in the last 30 days (divided into 6 categories):

Ausgewählte WDR 3 Konzerte 30 Tage lang hören. Zuhause oder unterwegs, wo und wann Sie wollen.

I must admit I'm finding the whole WWI thing on R3 - especially at breakfast* - very dreary and a bit depressing, especially in mid-summer...

So over the last couple of weeks I've been enjoying France Musique .. especially La belle Saision .. "fêter l'été, le soleil, la vacance, le départ vers le grand large, les voyages intérieurs !"

              What's not to like? J'aime!

              *(but don't tell C-BH... )
"Gone Chopin, Bach in a minuet."

So the French aren't so hung up on commemorating wars and centenaries as we are? Quel surprise

CDs in the car are my alternative and podcasts etc when out on the bike.

You didn't see the French coverage of D-Day commemorations then?

I wouldn't feel very safe as a pedestrian knowing that your were cycling around listening to podcasts

Fair enough although I was looking for a radiophonique alternative!

                    allez les bleus!

The anniversary of the end of WWII is a public holiday.

Not sure if this is the right place (do we have a WWI Commemorations thread?) but Italian TV channel RAITre will be broadcasting a memorial concert from Redipuglia (Italian/Slovenian) border on Sunday 6th July at 21.00 European time. - I believe it can also be seen oltreapli...

Riccardo Muti dirige la "Messa da Requiem" di Verdi.

Don't have a link to any dedicated RAI page but keep on eye on this page and ..Tour de Sheffield in Italian may be an added bonus!

Listening to cro-d-dur now. How I've missed quality radio! Anyone know where I get a playlist?

The programme details of ČRo D-dur are available at https://d-dur.rozhlas.cz/program#/2017-08-26 -- changing the date at the end of that URL as appropriate.
