Edit: Frontier Silicon was the clue, they use a service called Airable, which is the radio aggregator, and unlike a lot of other services they've done a deal with the BBC so that the BBC HLS/DASH streams are available.....the change to this seems to have happened in 2018, so that would explain the reset you had to perform. I presume you get all the foreign stations and BBC services? Just ignore this if you're getting bored with it! But it might help others in the same boat as me!
