Very unhappy with the new playlist system. Why the change?

on the other hand Jez was celebrating 15 years of Jon3 this morning in a trailer for the show tonight ..... and many thanks too from me, not always a fan of the Hoxton school of jazz broadcasting but 15 years is 15 years and some really fine programmes too ...

a special prize for the best youtube pick posted here to celebrate the show!
According to the best estimates of astronomers there are at least one hundred billion galaxies in the observable universe.

Very sincere tribute to Leroi Jones aka Amiri at the start of last weeks Jon3. Ditto the Leo Smith session although the US recorded version is far stronger in the string qrt. But wonderful heartening stuff.

Jazz and politics on the dumped down twoilet BBC...how EVER did that get under the wire?

          BN.

Trish Clowes and Gwilym Simcock have pieces on tonight's Radio 3 Live in Concert, for those deciding to make an evening of it, starting at 7.30. Her group with the Scottish Symphony Orchestra, conductor Clark Rundell.

Jazz with a Classical hat on. With my classical hat on, the Milhaud piece was good, and Gwilym's stuff.

A lot in the programme including a Lester Young track. Trish OK with me, but stand to be corrected. Think I prefer Trish on Tenor.

Jon3 will have to wait for later.
