    Soweto Kinch re-imagines... Birmingham

Had it not been announced earlier I would have overlooked this Radio 4 programme - a bit late but probably on iplayer eventually:

    Today - Saturday 25 January

    "10.30 Reimagining the City
New series. 1/3. Return of the series that offers new perspectives on cities. In this first programme jazz saxophonist Soweto Kinch shares his view on Birmingham, where he believes his choice of residence sets him apart from London-based talent. He also talks about the creative inspiration he has gained from living in a tower block and how he turned the Hockley flyover, visible from his window, from a scene of crime into a festival venue."

Not a scene of Grime, then...

This was well worth hearing - strongly recommended; available for another 5 days:

Writers and musicians offer guides to cities with which we think we are already familiar.

delightful and Soweto Kinch is an impressive person
According to the best estimates of astronomers there are at least one hundred billion galaxies in the observable universe.
