It's on my Christmas list.................Even tho Mr Grouch, I mean Crouch, can be a tough read imho. This by all accounts is great.

I read enough of it in a bookstore in NY the other week to feel that it is almost impossible to separate the worthy facts dug out from Crouch's interviews from the flow of fictional reconstruction he inflicts on his reader. I'd check out Chuck Haddix's book published around the same time...
