I venture into this strange area of the board frequented by people whose language I do not speak, just to mention that France Musique has an hour-long jazz programme every evening at 1800 Paris time, in case you did not know of it already. (Its at that point that I usually switch to "CD" in the car but have just spent a week ferrying around a colleague who requested I leave it on. It was interesting.)

R3 manages about six hours per week; until very recently all but one at midnight hours ... it is the daily schedule that is of interest and one presumes concerts or other jazz programmes are also broadcast ..According to the best estimates of astronomers there are at least one hundred billion galaxies in the observable universe.

The actual jazz output in terms of regular hours per week is about the same - 5 x 1 hour at 6pm. However, just as R3 does additional jazz concerts and occasional (now VERY occasional) documentaries, France Musique does the same. They also ran (last year and earlier this year) a Saturday lunchtime season of a programmes extremely similar to Jazz Library. I caught Laurent De Wilde talking about Red Garland, and selecting key discs, much as R3 did with JL.
