Have only just caught up with this in the latest edition of the Wire. This bassoonist and composer died in September. She had suffered from MS for some years. Played with Henry Cow, Mike Westbrook and many others. Composed soundtracks including Rags and The Gold Diggers. Something of a unique talent.

She's on some of my favourite avant garde albums: In Praise of Learning (Slapp Happy); Hopes and Fears (Art Bears); Hergest Ridge (Mike Oldfield); Fish Rising (Steve Hillage); The Rotters Club (Hatfield And The North); The Civil Surface (Egg) and more.
She was not old either. RIP
