    Dizzy Reece ~ 5-CD set

A bargain priced 5-CD set 'Dizzy Reece - The Complete Recordings 1954-62' has just been reissued by ACROBAT with informative booklet notes by Simon Spillett. The title is incorrect, however, as Dizzy's hard-to find 1960 BLUE NOTE album 'Comin' On!' is not included.
Dizzy is apparently alive and well and living in Brooklyn.

Presumably here, for example - couldn't find a supplier from the OP - http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/?ie=UTF8&k...l_4oz8jluute_b

Also, not sure exactly what "BN. Alive and on the bus. Wales Delta." means, but it reminds me of a bus trip in Sardinia where the driver had a tape of various hit tunes, and I think we had "Up Town Girl" 3 or 4 times in a journey of around 2 hours - maybe 3 hours. Strange, but I would quite like to know what else was on that tape - we were getting to know it by the end, but the Billy Joel song was the one which really stuck in memory.

In Wales (Kontinental KARDIFF) the bus drivers play tapes of Count Shirley Basie and Caerphilly Joe Jones. Oh the old jokes...are....old.

Good to know that Dizzy's rare 1959 BLUE NOTE album 'Star Bright' with Hank Mobley, Wynton Kelly, Paul Chambers & Art Taylor is included. It's currently being 'offered' on Amazon for £20,014.50(+£1.26 postage)!
