I saw the Larry Williams/Johnny Gtr Watson roadshow in about 1967...now there's a pair of geezers you wouldn't want to meet in an alley behind the Wine Lodge. Just saying.

HEY, where did you happen upon the Lou Blackburn/Freddie Hill dates? Horace Tapscott on piano. I thought I was the only one in the whole round world to have EVER picked up on that little gem. Bluenote reissue of all their Imperial sessions.

Getting one's recordings into some sort of intelligible form of accessibility is a most satisfying activity ime. Jazz and "associated" lps, cassettes and CDs I have arranged in chronological order (starting in the lp section on the far left end of two long shelves with my one lp of the ODJB), listed acording to band and/or nominal leader; corresponding index cards in boxes. I also have a loose leaf file which I have arranged year by year, listing recordings irrespective of recording medium, hand-typed and going back to the year 1959, which is when (with great foresight!) I started on it. The earlier one reverts in that timescale, the yellower and more parchment-like the pages! Some people of course prefer alphabetical order.

There is nothing worse than inability to locate that particular recording one had long been looking forward to putting on for one's friends - you know, the one that turns up the moment after they've departed!

A doctor writes...Zis desire for order reveals the subject to be about to invade Poland!

Respect! All my fifty years worth are stacked up in the spare room and the only system is..the Ornettes are over there somewhere!

Mr Shipton featured that album in his Ray Bryant library. So good I bought the company.

Mr Workman indeed. Theres an interview on Utube with Miles from 1953....before he "wrecked" his voice. Sounds really odd at this point.
