    Jelly Roll Morton on DM

I've posted this in the Discovering Music sub-forum but no reason not to have a 'jazz' thread too:

"The end of October 2010 saw the 120th anniversary of the birth of one of the most colourful and lively figures in jazz - Jelly Roll Morton. So to commemorate that anniversary, Alyn Shipton explores some of the musical legacies of the self-proclaimed inventor of jazz..."

    Sunday, Feb 20th, 5pm.
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

cheers ~ Sounds interesting! Out of all jazz musicians, I would liked to have met Jelly more than any other, although I would be mindful that you shouldn't let him get near a bottle of whisky judging by some of his songs on the "Library of congress" recordings!!

Will this be available on i-player as it clashes with "Time Team?" (Only missed one episode when I videoed "Songs of praise" by mistake!)
