I thought people might be interested in the following 3-part interview with the American drummer Jeff Williams. Some, like me, have previously associated Jeff with his 70s band with Dave Liebman, Lookout Farm, but his story really starts back in the 60s, and from working with British musicians for whom he has great respects he has in recent years worked a dual residency between New York and London.
In these interviews he talks about "meeting" Miles, at the age of 11, (Jeff at age 11, that is!), working with Dave Holland and Stan Getz, forming Lookout Farm, impressing Hermeto Pascoal (!), meeting his wife-to-be, the American writer Lionel Shriver, and his eventual sharing of creative time between here and NY.
Seb's London Jazz Blogspot is worth perusing for other interviews too, all listed down the left hand side of each page in green font, names including Chris Biscoe, Soweto Kinch and Keith Tippett.
