If only R3 was serious about Jazz ...

... then the implications and ramifications of this glorious web page could be explored over several weeks ...

but nah we will just have to endure the personality dj playlists and cabaret twaddle of recent months .... even the good stuff that manages to get by the production management is just playlist .... thought/understanding/analysis ... no way jose

Not just R3 but the BBC in general. I can dimly remember long ago film nights of Godard, Renoir and other French and European cinema with informed presentation. Chekhov, Brecht etc. and new drama...political plays for Gods sake!

    But then I'm 103.

Anyone who expects anything today from BBC Boilerplate has been raiding the community meths store.

My ducks are now playing "Ding Dong" both for The Peoples Pinochet, and for the BBC.

No respect. Pure Contempt. Stamp it down. Stake thro the frozen heart.

Wagnerians not over-happy with tonite's Met performance, it would seem!

Thanks, S-A. I am just enjoying JRR now, it's from my local.

I did have (free) tickets for the recording, but was unfortunately unable to attend.

Some sympathy with the opera. I once saw Andy Sheppard, with very heavy flu, attempt to play a duo semi-classical concert with John Harle. He sneezed loudly into his soprano at a key moment, squawked....then reached into his pocket for some antibiotics and said, "Drugs! I'M the jazz musician!"
