Euro Lard Patten gave em a good wigging? Now that really would have been a pig trough flying.

£80m...think how many banjos, accordians and Brit trad records JRR could have bought for that?

JRR shifted and stunted again, again, to 22.00 tomorrow. And only 30mins.

Its Shhhhhhhhhhhipton's Half Hour. Cue tuba.

        BN.

I'm sorry, Sid James has left the building. Along with Harry.

So. Let us get this clear. JRR today is again scrapped for a 1977 HISTORICAL RECORDING from the Met. Just to clarify: A historical recording means just that - it's not live, it's not happening, it does not contain living, breathing, performers, it can be broadcast at any time of the day or night but JRR still has to be pushed off the schedule? And, yet this performance, from the Met, is still billed as live? What's going on?

It's because of the Bedroom Tax. Alyn broadcasts JRR from his spare bedroom and now he's being taxed on it by the BBC's benefit section. If he plays any long Elmo Hope tracks he'll be evicted.

It was live 36 years ago and that'll do as far as Radio£3 is concerned...enough time to bounce off Epsilon Eridani or Tau Ceti and return back to teh Earth anyway...

Totally ****** (insert the epithet of your choice) ridiculous. I think even Alyn is feeling the strain judging by his introduction to this number: Ella Fitzgerald - Spring Can Really Hang You Up The Most - especially when it's still winter!

Write to R4 Feedback and see if they can get someone on to explain.

                              Play Spot the Prog!

Text us at the BBC now if you think you know when JRR will next be on! Midnight next Tuesday? A wet week in December? Down the back of the sofa? Lots of fun prizes and a chance to visit the R3 jazz library before we torch it.

The 'Baroque Spring' invades JRR next week(30 March) at 7.30pm. So not much jazz then.
