    The Bluesnik Nightmare

Bluesnik will love this - a whole section of accordions in this big band!

Never-the-less, it is fascinating to hear a music video from this age and the whole clip is just worthwhile watching to count up the number of unusual or non-jazz instruments such as a harp and a bassoon. This must be one of the first times a saxophone section chorus was scored solely for sopranos. The music isn't too great but this will offer a different perception of the 1920's for anyone who has ever listened to jazz before. Never heard of this band. The trombonist (Paula Jones ) is actually pretty good.

Ian, I totally approve. Accordianists should indeed be sectioned.

It's amazing the stuff you can find on Youtube. This is so bizarre and out of context that I'm really struggling to name the tunes, other than the closing "Tiger Rag's." I know the melody of the tune played by the solo accoredianist and the the next one played by the "sectioned" accordians but can't think what it they are both called.
