The Belgian Chemist (and useful ato player) was Jacques Pelzer. He also ran a jazz club. He kept Chet supplied with some kind of narco pain killer which Mr. B then consumed in industrial quantities. I think Chet also had a fling with his very neat daughter. As you do.
