Of course, once everything is on DAB, freeing up FM for specialist/local/niche interests you could have a dedicated jazz channel.

Glad you said that Calum. Was having difficulty with Brubeck's solo in St. Louis Blues. It struck me on first hearing as absolute rubbish - something I might have produced with absolutely no musical skills. Will have to listen again.

Not to me it isn't, because I like Wagner.

well Desmond and Morello are always worth listening tp again .. have to agree that DB could sound like a clod hopping farm boy with no swing or blues ... but he can still catch you with his big chords tricksy rhythms and melodic steals etxc

I do hear that the BBC's current opera "Invade Poland" fest is BIG in Israel. Still, anything to annoy those fekers.

By Jazbo's posts? Me too. Most of the time I haven't the faintest idea what on earth he's on about.

Hello Grippee, still none the wiser. Jazbo's hip speak might as well be Urdu for all the sense he makes.

Rather intrigued by your avatar though. Any chance you could post a bigger version?

Link to Ethan Iveson's blog concerning the the influence of Brubeck on Cecil Taylor. I don't a;ways understand the Americanism's within his blogs but the general driftnof his articles are always very thought-provoking:-
