Annie Ross documentary on BBC Two Scotland, 18 Dec 2012

On BBC Two Scotland tonight at 9pm, there's a documentary about Annie Ross, "No One but Me" http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01pj2lx

I've seen the cinema version of it, which is very good and has some fine archive footage. The TV version is slightly shorter, though. I don't know what's been left out.

If you're not in Scotland, it will eventually be available via the i-Player. You might also be able to get BBC Two Scotland on Freesat if you hunt around through the channels - I can certainly get various regional versions.

If it's repeated "South of the Border", I'll try and catch it: saw her at the "Pizza on the Park" (which isn't anymore) where unfortunately she was still in the "Short Cuts" role and rather insipid which was a pity but won't detract from my lifelong admiration for her contribution to "Lambert Hendricks and Ross" and especially "Twisted", "Li'l Darlin'" and the ensembles version of "Little Pony" on "Sing a Song of Basie"

............"Ride, Pony, Ride / be my wailin' guide/ (I wanna be your wailin'guide)/"................. magic

I too saw her at the Pizza on the Park a few years ago now but thought she was all I had expected ie very good. Always enjoyed Lambert Hendricks and Ross stuff which I first came across courtesy of Jack Jackson's Saturday show too many years ago.
