Why we must fight to keep jazz alive

    Digby Fairweather in Tgraf

...a special plead for the return of Jazz FM innit .... but that would be good .... now R3 roll yer sleeves up and get really serious about Jazz ... let us have a Jazz Season or Week ...

I nearly ran over Digby the other day in Westcliff, he just stepped out in front of my car in a daze. Must have been thinking up his article

I always seem to be thinking up my article. The only escape I've found is backwards.

As Ive said before, yawn, R3 broadcasts hours of boilerplate classical filler every night, "through the night". Why not just one night devoted to jazz? Think of all those wonderful accordians.

The inherent built-in irony of 'keeping jazz alive' is that jazz - as exemplified, for example, by recorded/digitized output - has never been more prevalent!

                        Think of it!

Every month's offerings on emusic.com is like not seeing the trees for the forest...

I think a Jazz season be rather good! Especially with big bands etc.

I always liked Jazz, as it lets your thoughts fly far-far away... It would be great to hear it at R3)
