yes! love his band who tour a lot, so a 'must see' imo.
extracts from 'flight' were played on jezon3 iirc.....i remember it as dark, pessimistic, and impressively angry. 5

have you seen em live handsome, they look a formidable ensemble on that utube clip?According to the best estimates of astronomers there are at least one hundred billion galaxies in the observable universe.

yep seen em, would definitely like to see em again, probably best in a smallish venue. imo ideally, the bottom end of stapleton's piano needs to vibrate your seat beautifully!
a formidable ensemble
refreshingly focused, and down right grumpy.
the all important 'after sensation' for me was that they reflect current times....minus the usual cliches and pitfalls of feeling the compulsion to 'document' within a creative performance. it's not often you leave a gig thinking 'oh that was emotionally intelligent' is it? more usually you think i liked the so and so's solo in particular etc ....but i left 'dsq' feeling that i liked the whole thing,..... rather than component parts.

Byas'd Opinion
He's also one of the people behind Edition Records, who have put out some very fine stuff: Ivo Neame, Jim Hart, John Taylor, Stan Sulzmann, Martin Speake, Nikki Iles, Kit Downes, Marius Neset, Jason Yarde, Keith Tippett, Josh Arcoleo, they all crop up somewhere in their catalogue.
