I've heard of getting down and dirty but...

    ... this is ridiculous

Station launches investigation after inadvertently airing several minutes of moans and groans. By John Plunkett

"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
    Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

...never happen on R3 now would it!
According to the best estimates of astronomers there are at least one hundred billion galaxies in the observable universe.

!!! tis funny .... similar happened on r4 too last year (if anyone else remembers, it was mentioned on 'feedback')? chaos ensued during prime time news, which is even more embarrasing for 'authorities'.

but the recent fm accident takes the biscuit for 'unsuitableness' 5 ....... as broadcasting gliches go, an award ceremony is due i feel! afterall, why just be competitive about the number of listeners?

It sounds like they know who is responsible. I hope it isn't the two Saturday afternoon presenters. I hardly ever listen to the station but when I do it is to them. Perhaps once every month or so. Without them, there would only be one reasonably interesting programme left and that clashes with better things elsewhere.

"'Jazz' is not a bad word now, but almost certainly is of extremely low origin, referring to copulation before it was applied to music, dancing, and nonsense (i.e., all that Jazz)."

What else could you possibly expect?

Calum: Having been 'called-out' on here for using the descriptive - CD'S - (instead of CDs), I must posit a query as to

w h i c h quote music man unquote you may be alluding to?

                              Calum hypothetically responds:
