      Asssume it is:
Jazzwise, the UK's biggest selling jazz monthly and the leading English language jazz magazine in Europe, has changed the way jazz magazines look and think with a stunning editorial and design package that reaches out to both the new jazz audience and established fans – qualities that have led to it winning Jazz Publication of the Year at both the Parliamentary Jazz Awards and the Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Awards, and Best Jazz Media at the Jazz FM Awards.

      Skylark!!

Guess there are degrees of improv - I have never been overly fond of out and out scat singing.

No, I really like this cd, I think it's brilliant, the more times I play it. If others do not, then that is OK

                      James Spaulding is the saxophonist.

Never heard of him until I saw Jools Holland but the CD was much better than the music he performed with the big band.

Ian I'm sure you'll have heard Spaulding before. With David Murray's touring bands (including the big band with Joel Brandon - jazz whistler - broadcast on Radio 3) and on CD with Freddie Hubbard, Art Blakey...etc? Or did you mean never heard of Gregory P?

Either Ian or myself started a thread at the Old Place about unsung musicians where the two of us discussed Spaulding.

Ian doesn't always make himself clear when he writes. Such a busy man...
