Well unless the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester has been moved I think not. Thanks Cal for drawing my attention to it - as you say a matter of personal taste - I suppose it's too much to ask for there to any Wagner in the playlist.

Wondering what Wagner mght be suitable for Stan Kenton - Ride of the Valkyries, obviously, but what else? Jazzed-up Tannhauser overture?

                Kenton/Wagner
                Label:Capitol Records – TAO 2217 1964

Ride Of The Valkyyries From "Die Walkure"
                Siegfried's Funeral March From "Goetterdaemmerung"
Prelude To Act I From "Lohengrin"
Prelude To Act III From "Lojengrin"
                Prelude To "Tristan And Isolde"
                Love-Death From "Tristam And Isolde"
                Wedding March From "Lohengrin"
                Pilgrims' Chorus From "Tannhauser"

I'd love to hear all of it but EMI will not deliver it on CD!

The Middlesex Preservation Society claim all of London North of the Thames

Suprisingly this was administratively in Middlesex until 1965. 2 and a bit miles from Marble Arch. Coltrane & Miles D played here

                  Stan's ancestral home?

                  One for Wagnerians

I'd prefer a version in the style of Earl Bostic

groovy little number with Shelley Manne on drums, a tad more kentonish than nordic i'd say ....

'Fraid you are doomed to disappointment barber olly. The closest it will get is a selection from West Side Story.

I know - if only Jiggs would think outside the box! Still WSS should be OK!
