Anyone with CDs they don't want donates them free, for sale for however much punters are prepared to give. The selection was pretty good - better than the usual selection of totally unknown names at Ray's/Foyles - and I picked up Bobby Hutcherson "Dialogue" and Wayne Shorter "Schizophrenia" for the fiver each I thought they were worth. Not one to defend a major label but three of those (very fine) Jackie Mclean albums are still in print, remastered by Bluenote (RVG), with I assume composer etc. royalties going to Dolly, Jackie's wife. and his kids...and indeed his Boston arts foundation.
Happy ripping then off too?

Bluesnik~ I'm fairly sure that the 4 Jackie Mac albums on the AVID reissue are officially deleted. Copies do seem to be available individually from some sellers at rip-off prices. I'd be pleased to have Jackie's RVG remasters on BLUE NOTE if I could find them!
