      i bet it sweetens the Trust no end to have a cabinet minister with a slot on R4 that is 'kultur' eh ....

      it is a really irritating show; short clips over-talking the music and each other and no insight .... he swang man swang etc .............................

        Imagine what it would be like if one of the really bad Tories did a programme (eg Gove on Stan Tracey "he expresses the history of the island people".

            I listened to the beginning of this programme on Saturday. Not being a jazz buff, I found it mildly interesting, though I can understand why real jazz buffs were irritated. I don't think Clarke is any kind of expert, just a journeyman listener with whom the casual jazz fan can identify.
