You know you're a real jazz fan when you hear this and think "Ah yes, the Miles Davis tune". Normal people apparently associate it with some guy called Michael Jackson.

Byas'd have you come across this cinematic outfit from Edinburgh?

I know of them, but I've not heard much by them. They're a jazz-tinged electronica outfit, originally known as The Joe Acheson Quartet. The basic band is still a four-piece (two drummers, bass/electronics, keyboards/violin), but live they're often augmented by other musicians from the jazz, folk or classical world. They tend to play clubs and dance music venues, though, and I'm now at the age where I prefer to get a seat at a gig, so I've never heard them live.
