You might like to know that familiar forum contributer Richard Barrett is featured in the New Music Show at 10pm, for which I am posting on the eponymous sub-forum. Over many years Richard has collaborated with improvising and erstwhile jazz musicians including Evan Parker.
Corey Mwamba with improvised music that blurs the lines between worlds, tonight featuring music by saxophone player Marshall Allen, who leads a quartet in a futuristic refashioning of the old myth of the Gordian Knot, using flute, shamanic drums, electronic synths and spoken word. Plus a collaboration in Mexico between Peruvian flautist Camilo Angeles and Argentinian cellist Violeta Garcia, and Brooklyn-based saxophonist Ayumi Ishito with layers of electronic experimentation.
Returning to Saturday, Ewan McEwan and the BBC Symphony Orchestra on Radio 4, at 3pm looks of interest:
The author, whose novels including Enduring Love, Atonement and On Chesil Beach, lay bare the passions and the contradictions of modern Britain, joins the BBC Symphony Orchestra to read from his own works, with music curated around his readingts and a guest appearance by jazz singer Emma Smith.
Easter Day
