I sincerely hope today's J to Z is not anticipating a new year policy to make the programme over to a Jazzfm soundalike: all very jolly and "upbeat", one relentless track chain ganged in after another in like vein, minimal hosting, Jumoké presumably sat to one side while the tape plays on. Be entertained, passive masses - this is J A Z Z, right? Probably the best coping is to use it as a backdrop to more interesting activity, like I am trying to do as of this very instant.

The big giveaway is the comment that "it helps to keep him mindful." Bless. Does anyone over the age of 40 use that word ? Never heard of it until about five years ago. I see that jazz makes his girl friend's Mum feel sick. She should try being a Southampton supporter at the moment!

To be honest Ian I would not know where to start. This is small potato's in a world of dumbing down, populism, Ukraine, The Republican Party, Tory Party, The Banks, GB News and Brexit and interminable nonsense from the Royal Family, just for starters - for a grumpy old bugger like me I regularly find myself boring for Britain.
