Nothing Tabane when you're feeling antiphonic for Cannell's sake!

    Sat 6 Aug
    5pm - J to Z

Kevin Le Gendre with new jazz and classics of the genre. Plus guests and exclusive sessions and gigs, today featuring highlights of a concert by British-Bahraini trumpeter Yazz Ahmed and her band, given last November at the 40th Tampere Jazz Happening in Finland. And South African piano virtuoso and educator Nduduzo Makhathini shares his inspirations, including a soul-stirring blues track by South African jazz guitarist and vocalist Philip Tabane.

Concert highlights from Yazz Ahmed, plus Nduduzo Makhathini’s inspirations.

    12midnight - Freeness
Corey Mwamba talks to Laura Cannell about her album, Antiphony of the Trees, in which she reinterprets birdsong through the recorder.

We are now in the low budget season when all that counts for jazz lovers are the numbers announcements at seaside Bingo, so this is a repeat.
Laura Cannell talks birdsong, improvisation and her inspirations.

The Listening Service and Words and Music are of such cultural superiority as to leave no timespace for Jazz Record Requests this coming Sunday. Worry not, because all tastes will surely be catered for once we are all under the control of the National Truss.
