    Harold Feinstein photographer

Watching a very interesting documentary on the New York photographer Harold Feinstein renowned for his post war photogaphs of Coney island and was also involved in the Jazz loft with W Eugene Smith and designed a number of the mid to late fifties Blue Note covers. Great pictures of NY people and life in the 1940/1950's and classic BN sleeves by Rollins, Mobley, Jordan/Gilmore and Thad Jones amongst others.

The programme is called " The man who shot New York" and is on Sky Arts hopefully it will be repeated or available on catch up.

Harold Feinstein was born in Coney Island in 1931. He began his photography career at 15. Within 4 years, Edward Steichen had purchased his work for MoMA.
