I am old enough to remember Chris Barber’s concert in Southampton Guildhall, part of a tour with John Lewis and Trummy Young ( replacing an indisposed Roy Eldridge).
The finale, a stomping version of “The Saints” ( very appropriate in Southampton) with the great John Lewis on piano brought the house down.
