Julian Joseph presents an exclusive session by influential Philadelphia-born piano great Kenny Barron, from the BBC's Maida Vale Studios. Barron's back-catalogue stretches back to the 1950s and includes work with Dizzy Gillespie, Stan Getz and Yusef Lateef. And UK trumpeter Nick Walters - known for his work with the Beats and Pieces Big Band and Tenderlonious - shares some of the music that has inspired and influenced him.

Featuring music by drummer Louis Moholo-Moholo, the last surviving member of South African group the Blue Notes, captured live with his band in Milan in 2012. Plus an experimental recording by violinist Florence Rutherford-Jones and drummer Jonathan Lodder in which neither heard what the other hand played until months later.

BBC Young Jazz Musician 2020
Hosted by YolanDa Brown and filmed at London's Cadogan Hall without an audience, the final features saxophonists Alex Clarke and Matt Carmichael, bassist Kielan Sheard, pianist Deschanel Gordon and guitarist Ralph Porrett. The hopefuls will be playing alongside jazz trio Nikki Yeoh and Infinitum and will have to impress a jury made up of composer and pianist Gwilym Simcock, saxophonist and composer Nubya Garcia and multi-instrumentalist bandleader Orphy Robinson. Xhosa Cole, the winner of BBC Young Jazz Musician 2018, returns to the competition with a guest performance.
