    Jazz Recommendations

I figure we could have a thread dedicated to recommendations, of any sort of topic e.g. 'what jazz from the 30s would you recommend?' etc. (Although I am not actually asking that!)

I'll get the ball rolling: what Steve Coleman would people recommend?

You need to check out the large ensemble album "Synovial Joints" which I think is incredible. I would struggle to think of any music which is as complex as this yet so catchy.

He last three albums have been terrific but the live- double album that came out last year is something I would also recommend. From his earlier work, the music he made with Dave Holland on ECM is brilliant with "Extensions" being the best of the bunch.
