My best wishes for the book also.

Your point about the "then" scene being small. I was given a load of jazz books when the partner of a friend of a friend died. One of which was "Jazz Now" edited by Roger Cotterrell (1976) published by Quartet and the Jazz Society. Somewhat amused that it lists all the then current Brit players home addresses and telephone numbers! Ideal to phone em up and shout abuse about their latest "waxing".

I was actually introduced to Roger Cotterrell by Michael Garrick, and it's good to see he's still going. Garrick also introduced me to Coleridge Goode at that same gig, who was in the audience, all on his own. Coleridge would have been about 96 years of age by that point, and when he spoke in his quiet way it was clear his mental faculties were in no way impaired. One thing one could say about Mike Garrick was that if he liked you he was very useful for important contacts; Roger did say he would be prepared to publish this book if I ever completed it - and that was back then!
