Lage's playing is not only really good but great fun to listen to as well. I think this track demonstrates just how much Ornette's music is now absorbed in to the mainstream. I am not normally a fan of Dave King's drumming yet he is pretty decent on the whole of the disc from which this track comes even if his playing is not quite as liberated as Lage's and the bassist's.

I would highly recommend the NYU Steinhart jazz interview series. This is a great one, with the Darby & Joan of contemporary jazz, Carla Bley & Steve Swallow.
