Good interview with Joe Henderson from 1993. Interesting he says he prefers the studio "comes alive there". And of often being told he's going to be the "next big thing" (by Hank Mobley etc etc) when he'd now been doing "it" all his life.

Not sure who's interviewing him, John Fordham, Richard Williams?

That's the first time I've seen Joe speak, so thanks for posting! I don't think either of those two? Certainly not Fordham; I would think too young to have been Richard Williams.

Here, have an hour and a half of Dex and his best buds. I wish I was as happy as Billy Higgins is at his workplace: watch out, it's infectious.

                              Wonderful stuff, BN.
There's also a great version of this on an ATLANTIC 2-CD set recorded at London's Victoria Theatre on November 14, 1971.
Dizzy was stunned by Sonny Stitt's powerful performance and exclaims "Sonny must have had ground glass and gunpowder for dinner tonight!"

Here's a vocal version of 'Everything Happens To Me' by Chet Baker:

Yep, I really like Chet's version, it's the one Georgie Fame always seems to reference. And it's an interesting song as on the surface it's kind of self pity, woe is me, but it's actually very funny. Matt Dennis, who also wrote "Angel Eyes" (my favourite moody ballad) was an interesting guy. And I guess made a shed load of money when Sinatra cut them.
